Henry Gutierrez


Former Trojan and San Fransico Giant Catcher Henry Gutierrez, has joined the staff of Troy Baseball MVP Training Center in Troy, AL.  Gutierrez will work with all aspects of teaching, but his emphasis will be on developing catchers and teaching them the correct fundamentals of the game. If you want to become a better catcher, why not learn from someone who has the experience and desire to teach the correct fundamentals.

Cassie Newman


Cassie Newman, a former Troy University softball player, is the lead softball instructor for the MVP Training Center. As a member of the Trojan Softball team, Cassie played both catcher and 3rd baseman for Troy, and was a standout high school player, as well. Cassie was a varsity starter, beginning in 7th grade at Meadowview Christian Academy, and later excelled as a pitcher and catcher at Dallas County High School. Cassie's high school teams played in regionals and state playoffs, and she was named the Defensive MVP, won the Captain's Award, and held the highest batting average for her team. Cassie also works as camp counselor for Camp Butter & Egg and Camp ASCA and holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Troy University.

Terry Bair


An experienced wrestler and coach, Terry has over 20 years of National Wrestling Experience. He was a three time Washington State High School Qualifier, he spent five years on the All Navy National Wrestling Team, was ranked in the top 8 on the National Level for five years, and qualified for the USA World Team Trials. As far as coaching experience, Terry has coached 7 Years of High School Varsity Wrestling, 2 Years of National Greco Roman/Freestyle for Southern Pacific Navy Wrestling and 10 Years of Junior/Cadet USA Wrestling. Terry is licensed through the USA Wrestling Organization.

Jay Harris


A former member of the Troy University Golf Team, Jay is the lead golf instructor for the MVP Training Center. As a member of the Trojan Golf Team, Jay was the #1 seed for the majority of his career. He was part of 3 winning teams at tournaments and posted 14 Top 20 finishes in his career including a 2nd place finish at the 2009 Troy Invitational. Jay was a standout high school player winning many awards in high school. He was voted the Times Daily Player of the Year in 2005 while leading Brooks High School to 6 straight State Championship appearances. Jay was part of the 2000 State Championship winning team at the age of 13. He won 21 tournaments in high school and made the AHSAA All-State Team 4 years in a row. Jay also works as a Camp Counselor for Camp Butter and Egg. Jay is from Killen, AL (near Florence) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He is currently pursuing his MBA in Economic Development.
